In this post, I am going to share my weight loss journey and experience in which I lost 20kg of weight in just 4 months after 6 months of 2nd delivery.
Becoming a mother is a wonderful journey and experience for a woman. During pregnancy, many physiological and anatomical changes occur to meet the increasing demands of the growing fetus in the womb.
A major issue that most women face after the delivery of the baby is gain in weight. In normal pregnancy, a variable amount of weight gain is constant. In the early weeks of pregnancy, a mother may lose weight because of nausea and vomiting due to hormonal changes. In the mid and later months of pregnancy, the weight gain is progressive and remains static in the last trimester.
The total weight gain during the course of pregnancy (singleton) for a healthy woman averages 11kg (24 lb). An underweight woman can gain up to 17 kg. When an average woman gain more than the average weight is considered obese. In certain situations, a woman goes into depression due to increased weight.
Let me talk about myself. It’s my personal experience, which I am going to share with you all. After my 2nd pregnancy, I gained too much weight approx 20 kg as compared to the pre-pregnant state. Everyone started teasing me in some or another way. Then, I decided to lose weight.
Personal experience
One day I was scrolling down on Facebook, found many people lost their weight by using the Calorie tracker app. I too downloaded it to track my daily calorie intake. This app will show you the total calorie intake as per your weight. In my case, it showed 1200k/ day. I was strongly motivated by the people who were sharing their weight loss experience in the app. To lose weight, you should develop a strong desire to lose it.
How I Lost 20kg of Weight In just 4 Months?
These tips can be used by all those who want to lose weight. You should be active throughout the day by keeping laziness aside.
Cut back on carbs– One way to lose weight to is cut back on carbohydrates and sugars. You should take carbs to maintain energy level but in minimum quantity. Daily carbs intake can be tracked by the app. Initially, I used to consume 6 chapattis at a time which I reduced to 2 chapattis. After reducing the quantity, I used to feel hungry but after 15 days my body got used to it. When you eat fewer carbs, your body’s stored fat starts to burn. I was consuming bajra roti (millet) instead of wheat chapatti because it contains fewer calories and fills the stomach completely. I cut back the sugar to less than 10%.

Eat protein and fiber in excessive quantity-You should eat a recommended amount of protein to preserve your muscle mass while losing weight approx 60 gm. Proteins include egg, beans, legumes, fish, etc. You can eat all types of vegetables (potatoes in limited quantity) and salads. After each meal, track your calories. If it exceeds the recommended one, reduce the intake quantity. Oatmeal is another very good option to reduce weight, which I preferred most.

Exercise- Exercise and brisk walks had helped me a lot to burn calories and stored fat. It helps you to lose weight quickly. I used to do a brisk walk for 30 minutes after 10 minutes of each meal and a daily evening walk for 1 hour. I was exercising 4 times a week for 30 minutes. Other than this, skipping was a part of my daily routine. You can try going to the gym three to four times a week to lift weights. If weight lifting is not possible for you, then go for cardio workouts such as jogging, running, walking, swimming, skipping, cycling and yoga. You are supposed to be active throughout the day.

Some of the other tips include avoiding sugary foods, drinks, juices; drinking more water; eating slowly and chewing completely; sound sleep; eating high protein food, and intermittent fasting.

Above, I have shared my weight loss experience by following the above-mentioned tips, I reduced 20 kg weight in just 4 months. Now it’s your turn, go for it.
